It is that part of the year where everyone is pissed off with the climate and of course with the boring time spent at home(With exception of certain guys/gals!!), and movies are expected to be the "boredom-busters".

The Summer of 2009 in Chennai is no different, the climate is at its scorching best. The temperatures are topping the previous day's numbers, the stock market can be a volatile one in this economic crisis but the temperature seems to be exponentially increasing. There were the other events which kept the minds of the people distracted from the woes of the scorching heat, they were the EPL and UCL for the football fans; IPL for the Indian People(Cricket is our Religion Remember!!!) and of course the eventful General Elections which kept us glued to the televisions for the best part of 3 days( Major distraction from the IPL itself!!!).

Now that the EPL's fate having been decided in the penultimate weekend with The Red Devils retaining the trophy and leaving the Scousers with nothing to chew on, the final weekend has its share of climax attached to it as the relegation battle is fought on May 24. After that it’s the UCL finals on the 27th May. And that is the end of interesting football quota for the summer and I have to wait till mid-august for the next season to kick off, till such time it’s a big bore.

The IPL gets over by May 24th, this season's cricket show was spiced up with the posts from FIP, now that he is RIP there will be no more spicy touch to the IPL. The World T20 kicks off in the first week of June, for me it would be a heavy dosage of back-to-back 20-20 cricket tournaments and it sucks big time. There is no fun till July when the Ashes kicks off.

So there is a consistent boredom injected to my life at regular intervals, for busting out that boredom I need to watch movies. But WHERE ARE THE MOVIES??????

It is one of those most forgetful summers I have ever had in Chennai(For Sure I will forget this Summer). There has been no quota of new movies being released in Chennai, I think the film distributors have forgotten that there is a metropolitan city in the South of India called as Chennai. Where the hell are the newly released English movies.

The English movies were having a simultaneous worldwide release for quite sometime in the recent past. But when there are major blockbusters lined up for the summer, why the hell can't they have a simultaneous release. We movie buffs from Chennai eagerly await for movies such as Angels & Demons, Watchmen, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Terminator Salvation and we have to wait for another month or two before the actual "censored" one comes out.

The political honchos are to be blamed to some extent, they are like hungry hyenas, waiting for some English movie to be released and in the name of "Defaming God" try to ban the movie from being released . Instead of concentrating on banning movies please stop the "in-party-crap" of propagating ill across the nation. Do your duty first and later concentrate on these petty matters. Everything in this country is ruled by the concept of bureaucracy even for movies it is the case. It is not that the people of India eagerly wait for Disney to release a newly animated movie, we even love the other movies being filmed in Hollywood, so for God's sake please release the movies in time and unshackle us from our boredom. I cannot figure out the problem with simultaneous releases. Now that its in our fate to wait till the movies release, nothing can be done.

Coming to regional movies, whoa!!!! What a summer, filth-filled movies aka hyped movies being released every now and then. These movies are no different from B-Grade movies, the difference is that these hyped movies have highly-paid actors and actresses but the only commonality is the budget on costumes, it is very minimal citing the recession. Common we are not that illiterate to get fooled with such movies, but still we watch it for escaping boredom .We cannot survive for any longer with this filth!!!

I do not know how far I can go watching these ill scripted movies, I have resorted to watching movies on my DVDs till the next good movie(s) release. Hope you guys find other ways to kill your boredom!!

FIfa FAnatic!!!

The rich and the power are obsessed with priceless artifacts, vintage cars, vineyards and various others. Everyone are obsessed about something or the other in their whole life; girls obsessed about jewels, guys obsessed about computers, bikes, video games. Likewise I was smitten by the video game bug and am crazy about one game which is FIFA.

It was during the summer of 1998 I was bitten by the football bug. In the following summer arrived a new computer of the best configuration then (Pentium I Processor), having the craze on video games I asked my father to get me a game, he duly obliged to the request and got me the first edition of cricket by EA Sports: Cricket 97. Having mastered the game in few months time, the boredom returned , therefore bought FIFA 98. From then onwards there has been no turning back, I have 90% of all the FIFA editions so far.

FIFA 98 is a game which is closer to my heart, anytime even today I would not mind playing that beautiful game. When compared to today's games, FIFA 98 is no where near the graphics and game play, but for the games of that time it was one hell of a game. Since I had less knowledge about the clubs playing those days I stuck to playing with the Brazil team and it was fun playing with them. I hardly managed to finish one level and proceed to another level. Game play was tougher for me then. :-(

FIFA 99 made its entry, the following year and I duly bought it without any second thoughts. There were no differences from its earlier version except for the team rosters. Every player had the same face, same physique. Game play was almost similar to that of the 98 edition. By 1999, having got some knowledge about the clubs and having seen Manchester United play, I started playing with that team and till date I have continued to play with Manchester United in every edition of FIFA.

The 2000 version of FIFA according to me is the worst one, as the players' physique resembled that of the scarecrows. It was looking like sticks tapping the ball around and the game play improved a bit from its earlier versions. Though EA sports were having football personalities to endorse the game, the faces hardly resembled them.

The later versions that came out after 2000 had the same problem with the resemblance of the players' faces. The 2003 edition was a superb one with the wishes of a soccer fan coming true, it had an ultimate game play and features of the players were almost similar to those of the real ones. The turning point for FIFA came with the release of this edition, the teams were up-to-date which was advantageous when coming to the sales aspect. It was from this edition I managed to finish every level with ease and moved on to the next level in every edition.

The best part of the newer versions of FIFA is that of the Manager Mode, where in the gamer has a managerial role to play with the team he has chosen. The interesting part of the Manager Mode itself is the transfer season where we can buy any player from any club with the funds we have. Me and my friends boast about our transfer records and about the world class players we buy during the Transfer Season. I envy two of my pals who are damn good at it and they have some of the best players in their roster. It is so addictive that we keep on playing the game just for the sake of entering the transfer period.

Currently I am playing FIFA 09, I have spent and spending most of the time playing it. It has indeed become an hobby to play FIFA nowadays for me and my friends. We even thought of adding it as a detail to be specified in our resumes. During my post graduation, my pals and I have spent enough time playing FIFA on LAN and it is one of those things we cherish the most.

Many people tell that Pro Evolution Soccer is anytime better than FIFA, I fail to agree with them. Call me a stereotype or whatever, I am a FIFA Fanatic forever and would continue to play that beautiful game. It has become a part of my life.

Childhood Pranks ;-)

Everyone in their childhood would have caused some kind of trouble to their parents. As a child I also had a share of trouble caused to my parents . Though two of these events were near-to-death experience, these are some events which will be cherished throughout my life and will be closer to my heart.

Starting off, I feel construction of any kind is taboo for me. I was a 4 year old causing enough trouble for my parents during the construction of the current house where I live in. Me and my brother used to visit the construction site everyday either by cycle or walk. One such day, after reaching the construction site my parents then were supervising the finish of the water sump.

As an inquisitive child, I tried too much to gain a sneak peek into the water sump. Finally I did get a look into the empty sump and as a result, I fell into the sump with no construction guy in it to catch me. My parents and my brother were worried as to where I went missing. After some introspection they did find out that I fell into the sump and was hailed out of the same with help from the construction people. I escaped without any injuries that would hamper a 4 yr old. ;-)

Second instance, during the construction of the first floor me and my mother were checking out the flooring, it was ready for the next day's work with the cement made to dry . The window design of the living room in the first floor was of the French type with no work done on except for a big gaping space. The cement was wet and slippery, Mom cautioned me to be careful and as usual did not listen to her.

I thought I heard something from the ground floor, instead of checking out by walking down the stairs, I tried to do something extraordinary by looking out the of the supposed-to-be window. I slipped and fell down to the ground floor. Luckily I was saved by a creeper which we were growing and fell onto the bricks. I was unconscious for sometime till I reached the hospital. If there was no plant there, I would have been heading towards either hell or heaven. After that fall, the creeper died and had to remove it. It had served it purpose on this world!!

Coming to a funnier instance that has happened, before the construction of the house we were living in a colony. The house where we lived was a small one and a cramped one also. As a small child and even now I have a craving for cough syrup, I was mad about it. One day I decided to reach for the ultimate goal. Having learnt of my craving for the cough syrup, my mother kept the bottle somewhere where I cannot reach. But I still persisted to pursue towards the syrup bottle. The bottle was kept on the top of a bureau.

I climbed onto the bed, then jumped onto the table which was nearby and then reached out for the bottle on the bureau. Like a person having found water in a scorching desert, I was elated to the same effect. I started drinking it as F1 drivers drink their champagne after winning the race and I was happy having reached my ultimate goal. My mom found me finishing the bottle and was rushed to the hospital to remove the tonic I had drunk. I found out later that I had not been drinking the cough syrup I had aimed for, rather was drinking a tonic which is used for treating skin allergies. Ultimately I failed in my quest to drink the elixir. :-(

I Think I have caused enough troubles as a child to my parents. Even now I am no short of creating any trouble, I still have the potential to do the same. ;-)

Innocence In Despair!!

In the Red Rabbit by Tom Clancy, I remember reading a part wherein the rabbit Oleg Ivanovich looking at his daughter thinks," Why, then, do children try so hard to grow up and leave their innocence behind?". On reading that sentence I started thinking on the same, why is that when we were children, we were overflowing with Innocence and when grown up we try to be more mature with less innocence. Is it wrong to be filled with the same kind of innocence as one had in his/her childhood ??

Once when we were in our childhood days(I am referring to the current generation of 20s and mid-20s), we were protected from all the ill-happenings of the world, we were protected as if we were rare diamonds by our families. The environment we grew up was that of a protected one I would say, because of the constraints that were around us.

It was in those times that most of our mothers were taking up the roles of home-makers and one of the major roles played in it was that to take care of one's children and also to protect the same from all the ills of the world. Our world was that of being around our mothers and fathers, thereby having no clue on the other happenings .We were dropped and picked up from our playschools by our mothers. We were subjected to excessive petting, thereby living a desired life. The same trend continued to our schooling.

When I was in High School, I could see mothers picking up their beloved daughters, in some extreme cases were some guys. The parents even had their say in selecting the friends for their daughters/sons citing various reasons for the same. When scrutinizing further, those girls and guys were the ones who were very innocent even for that age. By doing that, the life of those souls were being limited to the walls of their house and that of the schools. It was these boundaries put forth by the parents that has maintained the same level of innocence in them.

Those people feel that the life they have been living is an instance of an utopian life. But that’s not the fact, such a life in fact makes the person not able to think beyond a world without his/her parents. Such life makes it difficult for any person to survive in this competitive world. I feel pity for those souls. In that matter I thank my parents for loosening the grip on me when I was doing my schooling, thereby allowing me to get an idea as to what the world looked like.

The level of innocence does come down in a person depending on the level of exposure one has got in this world. Higher the exposure, lower is the level of innocence in the person. In this competitive world, I feel that higher the level of innocence in a person can be disadvantageous as people for sure would take them for a ride and leave them behind while those people surge forward without caring. Such is the scenario now in this world, full of schemers and manipulators, there are people waiting to pounce on the innocence of people.

Innocence can be instrumental in shaping up the character of a person along with various other traits which begin to ingrain itself in one's character; but it should not override the other traits that are also vital.

Coming to the question I posed earlier, it is not wrong to be filled with innocence in oneself. Innocence in a person is a trait that most of the people related to that person love the most, it is cruel to take advantage of the same to gain some materialistic petty things in life; such an act is almost equivalent to blasphemy!!

Technology Bites!!!

A week back in the residential area where I live had a power cable fault which lasted for almost 2 days. It was at that time I thought of certain things which has led to this post. We live in an era known for its technological advancements in every field any one can even dream of. As they say every aspect has its own pros and cons, in that manner I wanted to explore the pros and cons of the current technologies which we use in our day-to-day activities in the aspects of our values, friendships, relationships, knowledge. Through this post I am not projecting myself as neither a protagonist nor an antagonist of the use of technologies in our lives but rather trying to point out the things which we are missing out/misusing by using such things.

Firstly is that of the Power/Electricity. Electricity is the main ingredient of almost all the technologies we use. Had electricity not been invented on the downside the economies of almost all the countries would suck big time. Yeah its been a boon for the economic purposes of any country, that’s on the macroeconomic perspective. In an individual perspective, it’s a bane for us. When there is power, we do not indulge ourselves in any kind of activities which nurtures relationships, friendships, knowledge. There were times in my childhood where during the regulatory power cuts, myself and my brother used to hear about the religious epics viz. Ramayana and Mahabharata from our grand parents . Those times have indeed helped us to learn more about the same and also inculcated values which has shaped our characters.

Nowadays rarely does a family comes together to get to know every member of the family in a better way and only during power cuts the same family comes together in unison to learn more about each other, nurture each others relationship, understand the other person in a better way . In this sense India is much better than any other country in the First World, at least we have the adapting capacity to power cuts and we try to know more about our family in those tough times, the first world countries which hardly have any kind of power cuts indeed suffer from the inability to adapt for power cuts and also do not have a chance to get to know their family in a deeper sense.

Secondly the Mobile Phone, what an invention it as been for the mankind. The ability to stay in contact with anyone from anywhere in the world has been made possible with this amazing device. I would say it is just another pain in the ass for us, though I am an heavy user of the same. The first negative aspect that comes to my mind regarding this device is that it causes unimaginable levels of tension for anyone through various instances viz. forgot to take the mobile phone, payment of bills, peer pressure to buy new mobile and various others.

And the code of ethics are being broken nowadays with this device with people taking photos/videos without the other person's consent, illicit videos captured through the devices floating in every mobile having a video playback feature; these things also mount up the tension levels in a person. There were no such uncalled for incidents before the device had been invented, we were leading an happy and cheerful life without it, I hope we can still lead a cheerful life without this device.

Thirdly and the most important of all The Internet, whoa!!! Am an ardent admirer of the technology that has changed the face of the lifestyle of an ordinary person. But on the downside it has made us slaves. Nowadays whenever a question is put forth, we say casually that we will look up for the topic in the Internet. Though it is comfortable it has hindered our conventional way of referring books and going to the library. I feel referring books in a library would improve our knowledgebase rather searching for a particular topic on the Net and finishing off the session with us having found out the needed answers, hardly we do some sort of extra referrals in the Internet. There it limits our knowledge base.

There were times where we used to wait for our Dad's call from a foreign country, those things have been eased out in the advent of chatting via the internet; but still the sense of belonging is lost while chatting whereas the same sense is maintained while being on call.

We can be users of the technologies which are instrumental in our growth for monetary reasons, but we should not become slaves of the same. We should use them in such a way that it does not hinder inter-personal traits and we should not be aloof from the society which indeed has a lot of lessons for us to learn from it. On the economic front with the help of such technologies we are going skywards, but on the personal/individual front we are stooping down to levels where would rather not be!!!

Vital Lessons!!!

It has been an hell of a ride from 2007 to 2009; referring to my MBA program. Having gone through the journey(Yeah!! Its been a long tiring one) From the time spent I have learnt a lot both academically and also on the non-academic front. The life there at campus was just a snapshot of the actual one which I would face in few months time i.e THE CORPORATE.

Life was a jigsaw puzzle when I set my foot in the campus two years back, missing my kith and kin was the major issue during the initial days. But had to figure someway out, I had to come out of the shell and meet up with the new upcoming challenges. Coming out of the shell itself took a considerable amount of time and to settle with the "Outsiders" took more time than I thought. Academical issues are boring and enraging so I would rather skip them and a universal fact for anyone applying for a PG program : People are ready to stoop down to levels unimaginable to gain unfair advantage, so BEWARE!!!!

The Non-Academic Front, not to worry its not another political front (With the GenElec Results Out!!!). Yeah its the one which has helped a lot in grooming my character, habits etc etc. I would say that, one's character is built through his/her friends, family, environment in which he spends time. And of course my character has been shaped through my friends and family.

With my family out of the equation for the best part of the two years, my friends have been pivotal in the new traits of my personality. With people from different backgrounds/regions around oneself for the best part of a day, one can obtain experiences varying from the best of all to the most bitter of the lot. I have experienced both in various instances which has made me a better person having learnt the lessons from both the good and the bad. For me the good experiences outweigh the bad ones, so I feel lucky in that sense and at the same time feel unlucky that I did not get the opportunity to learn more from more bad experiences.

I feel, the challenges put forth in those two years were nothing as there would be bigger hurdles to cross in the forthcoming years when I set my foot into the world of The Corporate. And I am eagerly waiting for the same, the hunger for facing and solving challenges have risen, and hope the macrocosm satiates me.

Have you been "Obama"ized?

Finally!!!!! , all the hustle and bustle related to the American Presidential elections have been put to rest with the election of Barack Obama. Barack Obama has obtained attention in a manner no person can ever fathom about, be it through newspapers, social networking sites, websites he got all the positive attention he required to win the elections; Unlike his republican counterparts, he has shown a level of dignified behavior on and off the field of politics. The obsession people have on this person and his charisma grabbed my attention so as to blog on this guy, that’s why the topic “Have you been obamaized??” …

After 21 months of rigorous campaigning, Obama won the presidential elections with a huge margin over his rival John McCain. I do not understand why there is a lot of excitement in the Indian Contingent not referring the government but to the citizens of India regarding his election to power. I do not remember any of the fellow citizens celebrate the election of either Bill Clinton or George Bush but why this level of excitement is attributed to Obama?

There are a lot of doubts hanging in the air regarding Obama’s ease of handling the pressures attached to leading one of the top geo-political powers of the world. The policies he will be adopting in power are not fool-proof as being relatively an amateur in the field of US politics when compared to McCain. The policies he would have to frame have to be so effective that they have to do the following:

· Restore the lost confidence in the minds of the people about their country emerging economic crisis.

· Reduce the level of unemployment in the nation which is currently very high compared to the 1990s.

· Restructuring the tax rates so as to help the US economy stand back on its own feet an etc…

Obama can devise effective policies only by having the advice of experts like Warren Buffett, former President Bill Clinton and better not repeat a Greenspan blunder.

Unlike Bush, Obama has to do a lot so as to restore the American pride back to where it belongs. Bush had lots of resources to spend when he had come to power, so he spent it unwisely on the supposedly “war on terror”.

Coming to the “war on terror”, will Obama continue to do the same fighting one of the world’s bigger problems? If he does, he would have to go back on his words on the callback of the American troops from Iraq, as he would have reposition them in Afghanistan due to the rise of Taliban insurgency. He would have to scrutinize this very keenly and decide accordingly, as he had promised to cut back on the defense expenditure when in power so as to redirect the funds to help out the nation’s economy. Hope he does not indulge in the same fetish as Bush had: Hegemony in the name of “war on terror”.

In the current geopolitical scenario, he has to perform lots so as to nullify the influence the other geo-political powers like EU, China are having on the Second World and the Third World Countries. China are increasing their geo-political sphere of influence in an exponential rate trying to outpace USA and the EU by providing resources, setting up factories, constructing roads in the Second and Third World Countries, whereas EU has been concentrating mainly on its member states so as to harmonize the region and are also developing in a manner so as to replace the US Dollar with Euro as the currency for any kind of export/import transactions in the near future. Geo-politics is a funny game, one’s misery is the opportunity for the other players, this is reality and Obama has to wake up from the doze and try to restore back USA’s sphere of influence in the Geo-political arena.

Now, the main part, how Obama’s election to power would affect us, Indians?? It would affect us in many ways. As he had promised to restore back US to its glory days, he would try to devise more incentives so as to curb the process of outsourcing to India, thereby restoring the lost jobs. So that’s a big blow to us because, India’s GDP is mainly contributed by the services sector which includes a crux through the contribution of the BPO/KPO companies, in this scenario our economy for sure would take a beating. Next is the Nuclear Treaty, now that the 1-2-3 agreement been signed and far from any kind of danger, still it faces a threat from Obama who had opposed certain clauses of the agreement. He is driven by a motive to force India and Pakistan to sign the CTBT, thereby curbing any kind of testing of the nuclear technology. He also wants to put a full stop to the everlasting Kashmir problem by brokering between India and Pakistan.

As Obama comes from an urban background, will he turn out to be another JFK? Or will do another Bush? Can he be another Franklin Roosevelt, bailing the nation out of the crisis which is hitting/tarnishing USA and its image very badly in the political arena?

Barack Obama turned out to be a box-office hit even before taking power as The President, will he continue his run as a hit or will he turn out to be just another character overly hyped like the second term election of Bush. Time will tell whether he is a wolf in the sheep’s clothing or he is a mere sheep. Let his actions speak and we shall decide the character of this “charismatic” leader in another 4 years starting from next year when Obama enters his Oval Office as The President of The United States of America.

Alas, Not a repeat of the Last Season!!!

Much awaited match of the week after an exhilarating week of sports, Massa's victory at Valencia, an eventful loss for Arsenal at Craven Cottage(Fulham), Chelsea back to their shit-type of football, Spurs losing once again, Berbatov's transfer saga. Whoa!!! Lots of action I must say.

Vs

Coming back to the match, Tevez was back after his family bereavement and Anderson back from his Olympics duty for Brazil. Giggs, Carrick still on the injury list with Owen Hargreaves claiming in an interview that he was closing in on a 100% fitness. Hope he is back with a bang. Manchester United had a very bad record playing Pompey at Fratton Park. Lost in the 06-07 season, drew in the 07-08 season, I was hoping for United to break this jinx and they did in their own fashion with a 1-0 victory this time.

The match started off with a screamer from the "Big" Papa Bouba Diop, it was just 12 seconds into the game, the shot gave shivers to all the United fans watching with me and ray of hope for all the anti-United fans. Eventually as it turned out ,that was one of the three shots that tested Van der Saar in the whole match. United dominated the possession for most of the match with their pin-point passing(Not Upto the Level of Arsenal-Had to give credit to them).

The Defence were at their usual best, Crouch and Defoe were nullified, like any other strikers' abilities nullified by "The Great Wall of England". The Midfield was orchestrated by Scholes, Anderson with fluent movement from Fletcher and Evra attacking from the flanks. One great passage of play by Anderson, Evra was ruled out offside; but the same passage of play repeated once again with Evra putting in a low cross for Fletcher to flick it in with Distin's effort to clear the ball ending in vain(It was not a own goal--the ball was goal bound). Fletcher has scored 2 goals in 2 matches- proving his mettle to the Gaffer; hopefully he will try his best to fill in the boots of absent-injured Cristiano Ronaldo.

Tevez and Rooney played their part as "team-players" very well; but for God's sake they are strikers and for most of the time they were playing the role of a midfielder. I have no apprehensions for them playing a role of a "team-player", but at least one of them should be in the poacher's position to do some finishing so that United are back amongst the goals. The scoreline should have been atleast 2-0, a superb Rooney flick was ruled offside, but replays suggested otherwise, the Right Back had played him onside which the Asst. Refree obviously did not identify.

I will be doing injustice if I did not write about Wes Brown's role in the match; he was just awesome, well above his actual level of playing. He was making runs like that of Gary Neville, giving pinpoint crosses to the strikers, pulling off tricks near the goal with Crouch, Defoe on the attack. He was amazing yesterday. I would have made him the Man-of-the-match contrary to BBC's Man-of-the-match Darren Fletcher.

Sir Alex Ferguson was hoping to pull off a victory at Fratton Park so that they keep up with th rest in Premiership and they did it in their own fashion. Manchester United back to their winning ways which they do so professionally and clinically.

Next is the UEFA Super Cup against Zenit St. Petersburg at Monaco. Go United!!!!!!

A Tie to start off the Title Defense !!!

Almost 2 months since I had a dose of some football action. And some spectacular goals on the opening day of the season.Come Sunday(17th August 2008), was the most awaited match; that of Manchester United against Newcastle United.

Vs

Team news for the Red Devils was a sad one because Carlos Tevez had to fly back to Argentina for some family reasons; still the team looked weak with most of the players out injured, suspended, playing in the Olympics. The striking department looked bleak with debutant Fraizer Campbell starting with Wayne Rooney. Midfield had Carrick, "Evergreen" Giggs, "Mis-tackler" Scholes, "Scotsman" Fletcher. The defence department was strong as ever, I refer them to as the "Great Wall of EPL" consisting of Brown, Vidic, Ferdinand, Evra.

The match started off with a great note with flowing attacks from either sides. Newcastle did not want a repeat of their 6-0 thrashing in the corresponding fixture last season. They looked strong even without the likes of Owen, Viduka, Barton; new-comers Jonas "Spidey" Gutierrez, Collocini were impressive in spite of some hiccups at the start from Collocini. Gutierrez seems to be a promise for the Toons.

Enough of introductions. First 20 minutes of the match was breathtaking with ultimate football from both the sides. The Red Devils had a penalty turned down by the referee, who was not in a right position when Giggs' free-kick was handled by Milner.Lady Luck was not smiling on the Red devils at that time. The Magpies took a shocking lead after a defensive error by Darren Fletcher, who did not mark the goal-scorer Obafemi Martins. Not the kind of error one can expect from the champions. The goal was a result of the shoddy clearing by Edwin van Der Saar on the previous corner. Once again the actions were not champions stuff.

The Red Devils took advantage of the treatment that Steve Taylor was getting at the sidelines by turning the advantage into a goal in a matter of two minutes after conceding the goal at the other end. The perfect low cross from Ryan Giggs was superbly flicked into the goal by Darren Fletcher(amended his earlier mistake by scoring a goal). This was the story of of the first 25 minutes. The tempo of the game started to pare down as time passed. But still, Manchester United were in their attacking mode as ever. This time the savior for Newcastle was their goalkeeper,Shay Given, who made some spectacular saves of the shots from Rooney, Scholes which were from a short range.Indeed he proved he was one of the best goalkeepers in the world. The saddest thing to happen in the first half was that of Carrick getting injured and replaced by a more "defensive" John O'Shea. The latest news is that Carrick will be out of action for another 3 weeks.

The second half started off with a bright note with Manchester attacking more. But the Newcastle defence were adamant to let in any Manchester United striker. Things worsened when Giggs was injured and was substituted by another debutant Rodrigo Possebon, another defensive option. Proof of Lady Luck not smiling on the Red devils was when Vidic's powerful header ricocheted off the bar; then once again Shay Given came to Newcastle's rescue by saving a low-drilled shot from Campbell. For sure it was not the Red Devils' day at the office. Another player made his debut, Rafael Da Silva, who came in for Campbell.I was pleased with the way Campbell handled the pressure. Hats off to him. Sir Alex was trying to convert his defensive options into attacking; perfect example would be Patrice Evra a specialist Left Back was playing as Left Wing Mid-fielder.

In the injury time there was a ray of hope when Possebon was brought down by Nicky Butt(ex-Red Devil). Ray of hope because in real-time me and my friends thought it was a penalty, luckily for Newcastle it was inches outside the box. No Ronaldo, No Hargreaves, No Giggs--All our free-kick specialists out injured; Rooney had to step in to take the free-kick, he almost got it right by curling the ball eventually the ball ended up side-netting.

I would rate Newcastle's performance far better than what they were last season. The new comers were impressive, the team looked fit, had clarity in what they were doing; the team will be more stronger with the return of Michael Owen, Mark Viduka, Joey Barton in the near future, still a long way to go before the end of the season.

And for Manchester United, a lackluster performance, which reminds me of the similar start the team got off in the last season. Hopefully the gaffer signs a new striker before the next match against Portsmouth. Hopefully the signing should be Dimitar Berbatov. Lets hope for the best for Manchester United in the Transfer Window. And waiting to see The Red Devils return to their winning form in their next match.

Ronnie The Hero !!!!

Cristiano Ronaldo has been so prolific in last 5 games he has played. He virtually ruled the pitch in the games he has played so far.Has scored 11 goals so far in this season.

I was not in a position to post my views on the Arsenal game because of the shock i had to take after the 92nd minute equalizer from Gallas. Manchester had the game in control until that ill-fated moment. All the Manchester United fans with whom I was watching the match were awestruck with that equalizer.I sort off went into a depression after that match.I was not in good mood for about two days as the goal was haunting me and it still haunts. We were so close to destroy the Home record of the Gunners, but can't change fate.Coming to the goals scored in that game, Rooney's goal was a fluke I can say as it got deflected off Gallas just before the break, it was the best that can happen to us against the Gunners at the Emirates. The best part was the play involving Saha, Evra, Ronaldo. That was the best play resulting in a "sexy" goal.It was just awesome, feast for all the Manchester United fans, why even the Gunners' fans were simply stunned by that goal!!!

Next game was the Champions League game aginst Dynamo Kyiev At OT. It was just a stroll in the park for the Red Devils. As Rooney mentioned in his press release after the match, it was indeed a "practice match".All the big guns were on the score sheet with an unusual visitor in the form of Gerard Pique, a prospective Centre Back. With this victory the Busby Babes booked their place for the knockout stages with them being the leaders of the group. The good news other than the victory was that the playmaker of Arsenal(Cesc) got injured during their corresponding UCL fixture.

After that game, tragedy struck the Red Devils with Rooney getting injured in a freak training incident which made him to sit out for a month.

Next game was against Blackburn Rovers who were in a good form until they set their foot on OT.They lost to the Devils 2-0.Great game once again from Ronnie, two goals in two minutes which wrapped up the match for the Devils.Great victory for the team without Wayne "The Little Monster" Rooney. And adding insult to injury Arsenal were still unbeaten which was bad news for the Devils who were to travel to the Reebok Stadium to play Bolton Wanderers.

Against Bolton Wanderers, Ronaldo did not start because of his International Duty representing Portugal for the Euro 08 qualifiers.Hell broke loose when Pique did a blunder by trying to win a ball which was not for him which led to a goal by Anelka. From then on everything was in favor of the Wanderers. They won the match 1-0, a victory they would relish for a long time.A derby victory after a long time.Without Wazza, Ronnie the team looked bleak and adding to the woes Saha lost his pace like anything, hope the Frenchman strikes back with a bang.Arsenal were clear of The Champions by 3 points with a game in hand(Bad News).

Next was the Champions League match against Sporting Lisbon at OT. Surprisingly Tevez, Van der Saar were not starting and Lisbon took the lead with a wonder strike and also with some % of blunder by Kusczak. After the break, Tevez was substituted for Nani, this changed the overall flow of the game.Tevez equalized soon after he was substituted. The game was heading for a draw until Ronnie struck a superb goal from a sexy free-kick.This expression tells it all regarding the ease with which he scored the goal:

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_O_9vwhCL0OI/R1maIW7tbmI/AAAAAAAAAD0/7ipQMYFlj1M/s320/171.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5141309918005784162" />

In the EPL, the next game was against Fulham at OT on an unusual Monday night. If I am right there were like 3 chances for Tevez to score in the first 15 minutes of play, but for him the Lady Luck was not smiling on him that day as she decided to smile on Ronnie instead. He scored two goals, both world class. The best part of the match was of Rooney making his comeback after that freak accident.Rooney made his presence felt in the pitch with his superb poaching skills.Overall the performance of the team was good except for the patchy football at the end of the game which many pundits pointed out.The best part of this game week was that Newcastle held Arsenal at St.James Park in a mid-week match.Atlast the Gunners dropped some points cutting down their lead to 4 points, good news for the Devils.Looking forward for the festice season where the Gunners are poised to drop some more points and hope the Devils capitalise on this opportunity.

With the FA cup fixtures out, Manchester United are set to play Aston Villa at Villa Park in their 3rd round fixture.

Next game in the league is against Derby at OT.

Strike Two!!!

At last the results of my crap-filled first semester was declared.I got a bloody 6.96 GPA.Pathetic isn't it??.I did my internals well, but one professor screwed me in one subject called Organizational Behavior where i was getting a 'B' grade in my internals adding insult to injury I got a bloody 'D' grade overall. This was the main reason as to why my GPA is so pathetic. I do not know why I am cribbing so much on my marks. I think the pressure has taken toll on my mind and I have started sounding like girls who are always after "marks, grades, results"..Goddamit!!!!

Past is past. I have to refine myself to get a decent GPA in my second semester so that I can show my face to my parents, who have entrusted in me that I will do good in my studies.I have been letting down them right from my Engineering. Some re-engineering has to be done. And I will do it.

Like rubbing salt to open wounds, I have been gifted with a professor for a subject called Financial Management. The guy has the stuff to be a great professor but he thinks he is in the USA, he is the TERROR of this semester. He is worst than the worst psycho professors i have seen in my Engineering. He is worst in the sense of the assignments he gives, they are for the Chartered Accountants and not for engineers like me.Moreover I am the prof's "first wicket" every class and I am simply stumped with his questions. The positive aspect of this is that I enjoy a VIP status during his class ;-).The guy's way of teaching is awesome except for his grading system and assignments. The subject and the prof have reiterated the fact that I am going to specialize in Marketing after my summer internship.

Coming to my Summer Internship(SIP), still not yet got any offers from any company.I have applied for some good companies, but for getting shortlisted for the SIP process I have to do some ass-wiping (or) buttering for the coordinators, which I am not interested at all.I am waiting for my brother's friend to give me a positive response regarding doing my SIP in his company.Hope I get that offer.

With the winter festival--"Aakrithi"--(Institute Sponsored)around the corner, all are busy finishing their projects so that they can enjoy the festival which has some 120 weird events. As for me I have not started working on any of my projects so far.Planning to start off with a bright note tomorrow after Manchester United's match against Derby.I have like 6 projects to be completed in a matter of 14 days.

Thats it for the day!! its because of the fact that I got my first semester results today. One of the worst results I have ever got in my life so far.Worse than the Microprocessor arrear which I got in my Under Graduate. It sucks big time to have got such results.Today only the external marks were declared, lets see where my internal marks combined with external marks position me in my batch. All my mates have scored better marks.Nothing can be done as of now.All the damage has been done and the recuperation process has to start ASAP.I need to vent out my anger and frustration (any suggestions ??).Ok enough of all these cribbings.

The second semester has not been so fruitful rather not interesting as the first semester was.The subjects this time except for Financial Management, Macroeconomics and Marketing suck big time.Subjects like Law, Basic Research Methods and Operations Management are sleep inducing just like the TQM, AI classes of the UG.

Shuffling of classes has been like rubbing salt on the injuries.Getting to know the new classmates is like the formation of a new team, it has to go through a number of stages. And finally when one gets to know each other better the semester ends and thats the end of the chapter. They say all the stories have an happy ending but I doubt it in my case in this institute.

Coming to the joyous part of my start to the second semester has been the fact that I was able to finish "The Google Story" and started off with my idol Steve Waugh's autobiography. And every weekend I feel like i am in heaven after watching the Red Devils play their sexy flowing football. The Red Devils have struck their form.I just cant resist the Red Devils.Hail Them!!!!.They Rock!!!.Thats it for now....

P.S- Long time since I blogged. No excuses this time.I hope I will blog frequently.

Atlast I am in a position to post!!!!!!!!!!!!! Part 1

Thank god, atlast i am posting in my blog.It has been a hell of a ride from my last post to date. The stay here has pissed me off sometimes and sometimes i have felt good.It has been a mixture of feelings and emotions.Last time when i posted it was during the initial stages of my classes here, after which a lot has happened.First came the freshers party.it was good from my perspective. The events included were those of fashion show, rock show, and a party with a DJ from Taj playing some nice songs. One recommendation regarding a song...try listening to The Sutta song by the IIT guys. For those hindi illiterates it actually means Cigarettes.--Parental Advisory Content. So beware.Listen to the song and u will know why.For the first time i attended that so called "party"and shaked my tail feather. It was a good experience.

After the freshers party came the screwings of India.First with that of the Financial Management Assignment. My team's assignment was on the role of IRDA in the insurance sector(Jargons!!!! Sorry!!!).We put our 200% did all the ground work for it and submitted. But we got only a 6.6 out 10.The reasons given by the professor were as follows:

1."The clarity of your work is good"
2."You have covered everything which i needed"
3."You have explained everything in stages"
4."You have used jargons"-----Jargons for the prof were "advisory committee".He is such an ass.
5."You have not presented well"----What the!!!! why does one need to have presentation skills ie "jigna" work in an assignment.

These things really pissed us off.So on that account we did not touch the book for the next two days...

Then came the Marketing Management Assignment. My team consisted of two girls and two guys(inclusive of myself). This team is the worst"est" team i have been in.Though the team members have good knowledge abt the subject, i hate to be in that.Just because of the fact that one girl changed every info regarding the assignment which i gave. The other guy is a good fella.we finished our works long back except for that guy who slogged his ass out on the night before submission. We got a good score of 7.5 out of 10.

This the part 1.The remaining parts will be posted without any further delay....So stay tuned...........

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://eashwar28.blogspot.com/2007/07/atlast-i-am-in-position-to-post-part-1.html' title='Atlast I am in a position to post!!!!!!!!!!!!! Soft Skills Lab.the professor who is the instructor of that stream was the one who was in my panel during my presentation.Gentleman he is.Thanx to him i am here.;-)he taught us how stress occurs and also how to control the same.it was to good to an extent and the rest was boring.

Classes lasted till 5:45PM.man i was to be in my home at this time when i was in my UG.Its ok, challenges will come up as we go up in our ladder of life.too much of philosophy involved.I am sorry..

Later talked with the floormates for sometime till 6:30 and later went to a vishnu temple near my campus with my floormates.had a good darshan.then came to hostel, ate dinner. Now posting my blog.we are yet to receive our laptops.Rumours are that we will be getting them on june 8th.thats it for the day.Its Sunday tomo.So its the time to party for u guys.I have to slog it out today also.hmmm MBA.

Season 1 Episode 4 And Episode 5

Episode 4 consisted more of admin work.had to go and get myself registered for the program. And to the astonishment the institue gave around 19 books only(;-)) for this semester. We are gonna get screwed through our asses.Thats for sure. The whole day passed just like that.Slept for 2 hours, then the whole evening was talking with the floor mates and finally read few concepts of quantitative methods. One good thing i did for the day was i washed my clothes using the washing machine provided by the institute, the good thing which they have done so far. Then slept off.

Episode 5 started off with a dull note though it was the starting of the regular classes.I had to give my psychometric test so as to decide whether or not i need counselling. But anyways i have to attend counselling for once in the semester. So it was technically no class in the morning.

Afternoon started off with the first subject of the day ie. IT For Managers. The professor distributed the hand outs which had the schedule of wat all is going to be done in the current semester.and as usual the advices started and also the lecture. After that class had two more sessions.one was managerial economics and another one was marketing management. Both the professors were encouraging.Lets hope for the best.

P.S-I am the only preparatory class.the class was on Accounting. It was pure greek and latin to me.The prof and students talking debit and credit, my heart pounding and mind confused about what debit was and what credit was??...damn it..after the initial confusion mind settled with what the prof was teaching.atlast understood something.

then went to the library in search of the prescribed book, not even a single book was to be found.felt nostalgic.toppers in our coll took all the books out right on day one.the same thing happened here.this institute similar to every other private institute launders money, y the hell cant they have multiple copies of a book??Avasarathe purinjika maatanga paa...

went back to my room after the intial setbacks, talked with my mom and clarified my "doubts" ;-).then it was time for lunch, had a sumptuous lunch.after lunch, read quantitative methods for quite sometime and listening to my iPod simultaneously.then slept for 2 hours straight with disturbances from a floormate,a call from a chennaiite who is in this campus. The frustrating part was when the floormate's question when i opened the door "Were you sleeping??"..What a question..Felt like beating the hell out of him. What to do...Nothing can be done. Now posting from the IT center.Thats for the day.

Lights Off, Camera type='text'>Season 1 Episode 2

Hmmm the day so far has been nice.No inter galactic encounters as of now(jus kiddin').Actually i have been allotted a section for the preparatory classes for the last two days of the classes, i am in a dilemma whether to attend them or not...2 days 3 sessions each, should i take the bait??? still have not decided, may be u guys can help me out.the guy at the acads section himself asked me y i am wasting time by attending the last two days of classes..;-)

i started the day off reading the material given to me yesterday.the book i started off was "FOUNDATIONS OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY"..Felt nostalgic after reading the first few chapters of the material. The same ABCs which i have read in different subjects across different semesters in my engineering. Then my floormate asked me to help him out in differential calculus which he was being taught in his preparatory classes.so went thru the material for about say 5 minutes.not in the mood to help him also.

today after two days had my best lunch...rasam saadam..thank god atlast some decent south indian food.after lunch went to give my photo identifiction proof to the IDEA distributor.Btw my new number is 9948510284..

after that i wanted myself to get enrolled to a programme called the SAP-Stipendiary Assessment Program. It is a program where one has to market the articles/case studies of the institute.if u do well, u get paid well.thats y i wanted to join..moreover lots of chickas are into the program themselves.my last resort is the SAP.the officer asked me to come tomo for further details.hope he does not reject my appln.

after that, saw in the notice board that we can submit our graduate completion certificates which they had asked for.did that..still yet to get my 8th semester results so my certificates are incomplete.;-)..now took my time off to browse..i am posting this from the IT center here.lets call it a day.Stumps...

End Of Season 1 Episode 2
<div till now..the best is yet to come. The chickas of this coll...They ae ultimate..I have the view of the girl's hostel from my room...girls walk past my room (not thru the hostel)..and i have a sneak type='text'>The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen !!

Though the members of this League possess no extraordinary powers unlike the fictitious members of the original league ,we(including myself) were extraordinary in many ways.

This post is to remind myself and my pals of the best times we had in college and in what way we were extraordinary ;-).

Starting off in alphabetical order:

Arvind Venkataraman

<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" aka. Pullli G.He is the bloke to be with when in deep trouble. He would help you come out of it through his "mokkais".You would feel the trouble you were in was much better than his mokkais.Ultimate in cross questioning you.I think he was destined for the Interrogation Unit of any police force, but found himself doing CSE in SVCE.He is planning to do his MS in CS.Hope he does well. Moreover he is known for his voice. The Foghorn of our class.Girls beware of him and guys with girlfriends stay away from him, he is the chick magnet.Has the maximum number of girl contacts.Looks like a cat but does the job of a tiger. He is always on the prowl for new girl contacts.Having been his bench mate for quite sometime, myself and him share a similar attitude towards girls.

Balamurugan B

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_O_9vwhCL0OI/RkrUWo3wFnI/AAAAAAAAABE/Hu8PSHQJnxI/s320/balam.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5065094216325011058" />

Balamurugan aka. Ball Matthews. He is the "ultimate" fun seeking guy .Sees every aspect of his life in a humorous way.He is known for teasing every other guy in the class with a name.He is bloody good at playing cricket, leave alone cricket he plays every other game with passion. He is the moving database about the girls in our college, though we have not cross checked it I hope its true.He organizes most of the birthday bumps and also the caking ceremonies. We have had immense fun with this guy.

Bharath Kumar Jain

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_O_9vwhCL0OI/RkrW243wFoI/AAAAAAAAABM/90Dfdx4WiTw/s320/butt.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5065096969399047810" />

Bharath aka. Butt. What can I say about his guy.He is a sort of guy no one would love to be with.Just kidding. He is superb at digging his own grave through his words.Always does that with finesse. For his attempts to lure a girl to a movie in the very first semester of engineering which ended in failure, he will be remembered forever. He hardly gets angry and even when he gets angry there is nothing he can do.Such a pity. This bloke plays his cricket with utmost passion. The only one thing which enrages everyone in the league is his punctuality.Very bad at being punctual. He is joining Infosys and he dreams of pursuing a MBA.All the Best mate!!

Chidambaram C

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_O_9vwhCL0OI/RkrbvY3wFpI/AAAAAAAAABU/6BdDsZx_sOo/s320/chidhu.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5065102338108167826" />

Chidambaram aka. Kosu aka. Chidhu. He is the guy who can help you out from any sort of problems related to academics.Good at academicss, he gets enraged when one calls him as "kosu"(mosquito). He jumps as high as 5 feet above ground level when tickled in his ribs. One should look at his face when the exams get over he is always on cloud nine whenever exams get over, he is always eager to leave this place and go to his native place. He is going to HCL(after lots of struggle he got this company).I pity him.

Dhanasekhar

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_O_9vwhCL0OI/RkrcH43wFqI/AAAAAAAAABc/u8QY7fvZV5I/s320/dhana.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5065102759014962850" />

Dhana aka.Dubuku Dhana. He thinks he has the ultimate knowledge of EPL whenever a girl comes and talks with him.Actually speaking he does not know the teams playing in the premier league. He is the best guy to seek for any sort of help.He gives away everything he has.His iPod has spent most of the time with us than with him.He used to be the "Dr.Prakash" of our class.Nowadays he is planning to seek celibacy. Most of us feel he will be unsuccessful in it.We have had ultimate joy while seeing him play cricket, the ball hardly moves out of its place, but the level of sound generated is immense. He is planning to do his MS in NEU, Boston(i guess...).

Easwaramurthi A

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_O_9vwhCL0OI/Rkreb43wFrI/AAAAAAAAABk/grwbwPEuw2s/s320/murthi.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5065105301635602098" />

Murthi aka.Muffee.The DJ of our class(Pun intended).Very very good at drawing human forms. He has been my bench mate for quite sometime. We have enjoyed every moment of stay with him.He is the other chick magnet in the league.Every girl would love to be in his company. But the girls are unlucky, he is committed. He plays his cricket with utmost utmost passion.Don't ever try to act like a fool in the cricket ground, he will breathe fire if he catches you doing it.He is the notes-generating guy whenever there is an exam around the corner. There is lots to say about this bloke. In simple words,he is awesome.

Lavan Kumar

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_O_9vwhCL0OI/Rkrg8o3wFtI/AAAAAAAAAB0/5NgZUv7mFUs/s320/lk.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5065108063299573458" />

Lavan aka.Lava**(Censored In Public Interest). He and myself are the "galeej" guys of our class. His passion is joining the Army.Whenever he talks about the army, we mock his statement "I will go down with a bullet in my head" with "I will go down with a bullet in my d**k".He is not a chick magnet. He is of the "pick up,drop, escape" character when it comes to girls.Always takes life in the humorous sense and always correlates every aspect of life with absolute bull shit dialects. We have enjoyed that.He is expecting his results from the army.Hope he gets it.Temporarily he is going to Infosys.

The other major players of the league are: Harish aka. Mama, KP Arun, Annush K Sairaj,Karthik Neelakantan.

The above guys have played a major role in shaping up my character, what am i talking??? we have shaped up every other guy's character in the league.Thanx a lot guys.It has been great fun with you guys.Hats Off!!
The Actual Fun Begins Now !!!!

Here in my room i sit listening to Sean Paul's "We Be Burning".Actually it should have been "We Had Been Burning",yeah yeah i was referring to the semester exams. At the last hurdle i did not want to stumble ,hence burning the midnight oil was the last resort in order to obtain pass mark.Yesterday was technically the last working day of the 4 years of engineering torture. And with the grace of God the question paper yesterday was direct,i think there wont be any problem in getting a pass mark.Myself and Hayu(the Topper of my class) have been eagerly waiting for this day since the opening day of the first semester.Thats true even the topper wanted the torture to come to an end.

Why I refer engineering in my college as torture because it has been a torture only.I sound like the guy who defined a rose as "rose is a rose" don't I??Ditch it.It's the time to party.Thats what the guys of my class had arranged for -"Farewell to themselves".Crazy.Anyways i did not bother to go.The good job these guys had done according to me was that of the collage of the whole CSE 07 batch. That was an hell of an idea.Hats Off!!!

And the college life has come to an end with the end of exams.Has it ended abruptly???I dont think so...We have endured so much in these 4 years. So it is not an abrupt ending. It is a sweet ending. We deserve the break.

And now its the beginning of the actual fun.Everyone are going in a different direction to take up different challenges. All the Best to them all!!!!.

Guys who got placed in the IT companies deserve a loud ALL THE BEST!!! because computers are their life for a minimum of one year.Guys pursuing higher studies(including myself)have to endure two more years of education. That would not pose a problem because its The Post Graduation Programme, i dont think we might have to endure the same type of torture endured here. But we might have to face different types of challenges, that should not be a problem also.Having tackled the Anna University Exams we have the mindset to take up any challenge.Am I too critical of the University???

We keep a comma to our lives now,as there is lots to come in our lives.Thats why the actual fun begins now!!!!!
End Of Days!!!!

At last the 4 years of "torture" at the hands of an engineering college comes to an end .Having endured so much, now I have to get ready for facing the next level of hardness in my life. Why is that always the next level in one's life is hard to face. Why should one face so much difficulties. It sucks.I always try to seek an easy-going life, but always end up in a difficult one.Whatever said and done, life is full of challenges and one should be ready to face it.

Having been at the cross roads i.e.choosing between campus placement and higher studies, i chose the road to higher studies.Thank God it has not been technical again. But whatever be the discipline, it has its strong points and difficulties.MBA seems to be attractive in its lucrative job offers, but it involves a lot of hard work.Thats what i hear about every now and then.

Hard Work - a word which is anonymous in my life.Myself and hard work are a mile away.Don't know how i am going to cope up with the pressures of MBA.Having coped up with the pressures of engineering hope i will catch up with the lifestyle of an MBAian.Having learnt so much from engineering,i think those will help me out.And to add salt to the injury, for the first time in my life I am going to be away from my parents(i know i sound childish).Leave alone the industrial visits, which maximum lasted long for 3 days. One's parents are like pillars, if in trouble too good in giving support.Awesome they are.Hats off.

And adding more salt to injury, leaving the best pals in one's life.I had hell of a time with the guys of my school and coll.School guys rock as usual. They were more of "my life", than "in addition to my life".Coll guys were totally different.Always in the state of hyper mood.Whatever be the situation, there will be humor in it.That was awesome. And playing cricket with these guys has just been the best part.Though its just a game, we did take it seriously and have fought back well to win some "away" matches. And not to forget the treats we went to.One should save his 10 months' pocket money if he had planned to give any sort of treat. However we enjoy it.And also the times we made fun of each other, times where we commented about every other girl in my college. All those moments are to be relived.

I have enjoyed every moment of my life till now.Hope life has something good in the offing for me.No more Woes.Hate to have them in my life.<div Hail! The Red Devils are here "

What a season it has been for the Red Devils so far on top of premiership with Chelsea trying to catch up with them, in the quarter finals of the Champions League, due for a replay against Boro in the FA Cup which is coming up on Monday.Amazing it has been.Having not been in touch with football for almost three years(thanx to the bloody stbs), I find it amazing to see my favourite club on top of the Premiership ,though they managed to get into the top 4 in the past 3 years. They are the Best.

Lets start off with the Premiership, they had an awesome start to the Premiership blowing Fulham away 5-1.That was beginning of the success story.right from then they have managed to win/draw almost all games except for few unlucky ones , like where they were handed with a double loss againt bloody rivals Arsenal(both home and away) and also the most unexpected loss against West Ham under then the new coach Alan Curbishley who has had a very bad Win % against the Red Devils(and currently West Ham is trying hard to keep its place in the Premiership). That win against the Devils was a stroke of luck for the Hammers since then the Devils have maintained their momentum both in England as well as in Europe. Some of the mathces which took my breath away were those against Fulham and Liverpool away from home in the Premiership and also the match against Benefica in the Champion's League.

The match against Fulham away from home just showed the class of the team and also the ability of not cracking under pressure. In the dying seconds of the match, it was this guy Cristiano Ronaldo with a sudden burst of energy running right from the half-line and finishing was just great.<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_O_9vwhCL0OI/Rfq2SbQjmuI/AAAAAAAAAAk/c10WdM98cpA/s320/CR.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5042543160465791714" />
Though he is not much popular amongst my friends because if his extraordinary ability to get fouls(i meant diving) ,he must be known for his crosses, his cool penalty finishes and not to forget his sprints across the field. That was one hell of a match.

The next best match was against Liverpool away from home.Liverpool though they were not in the title race for the first half of the season, they gained momentum and are now breathing fire, unbeaten at home in the premiership since Jan 07, was a pain in the arse for the Devils for most of the match. For it had not been Van der Saar and the wall of Manchester United, Liverpool would have got them by the neck.It was 0-0 till 90 minutes, and then in the injury time comes the winner from John O'Shea a superb goal with some help from Cristiano and also from Saha who blocked off Reina(Liverpool's GK).<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_O_9vwhCL0OI/Rfq1nbQjmtI/AAAAAAAAAAc/218Bj7jyEhs/s320/O+Shea.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5042542421731416786" />

O'Shea was known for the wrong reasons last time when United lost at Liverpool - he actually hit an own goal.Forget the past.

Against Benefica in the Champion's League was a do or die match for the Devils. They had lost their previous two matches against Celtic and FC Copenhagen away from home.Last time United failed to qualify for the Knockout stages, they were in the same kind of pressure as they were in last year.benefica have been known for knocking out Manchester United in the CL.But this time it was not the case. The Devils won 3-1 thanks to the goals from Vidic - the latest defending sensation, Giggs and Saha.

The FA Cup has been more or less a rough terrain for the Devils but they have managed to win each of their rounds without any fuss. They are yet to face a replacy against Boro on Monday at Old Trafford.Hope the Devils win.

Chelsea have been chasing hard, really hard for the itle.United have enjoyed that and also have silenced the critics many a time.Although the average age of the team might not be a good sign, they have played some extraordinary football rather I would put it this way, they have played some Ultimate Football.

What the hell do we care?
All we know is there's gonna be a show,
And the famous Manchester United will be there

eMBArked on a Journey Finally !

At last I achieved what I felt impossible to achieve, i.e to get an MBA seat.I got it in ICFAI, Hyderabad(Ranked in the top 20 B-Schools in India). My next big step in life.I have inked my experiences in this post.

My preparation for my presentation and interview was in full throttle only a week before my actual date of interview, till then life was smooth and easy. And moreover out of the 13 institutes i applied, i got a call letter from this institute only.My Last Hope. And going into my preparation, i had to present a micro-presentation on a topic which was to be chosen from a list of topics given by the institute. My three choices of presentation were the following:

1.Abolition Of Capital Punishment

2.India in 2050

3.FDI in India

I chose the above because those were the topics with which i was familiar with to an extent and the remaining 17 topics given by the institute were just Greek and Latin to me.

Out of the three i was made to present on India in 2050(compulsion from my Dad).He knew better so did as per his wish.Frankly speaking I never bothered to prepare my presentation 60% of it was done by my father, the remaining contributed by me and my brother.Preparation for the interview was Null till the day before my interview, which was scheduled for February 9th.

My first rehearsal for the presentation clocked 8 minutes solid with lots of unwanted stuff viz. gestures, redundant usage of words, and of course my speed .My father even caught it on tape so as to learn from the mistakes i made.My performance was just pathetic.Later that night we had one more rehearsal which clocked 7 minutes with slightly better performance this time. The reason i am mentioning the time is because of the fact that the institute was stern about the presentation getting over within 5 minutes(managerial skill-time management). Then we called it a day.Still interview prep was Null.D-day was approaching fast.

Feb 8th myself and my dad boarded a low cost airline to Hyderabad. On reaching the destination I found myself in a pathetic position, i.e. fell sick.Had to spend three to fours sleeping in my hotel room.Later that night we had n number of rehearsals. And moreover i missed the repeat telecast of the friendly between England and Spain which was played the previous night. At last in my final rehearsal I clocked 4 minutes and 57 seconds, a sigh of relief for my father and me.It was on that night that i started preparing for my interview.I even messaged my friend asking for the various biographies written on famous sports personalities.Preparation for the interview was for just an hour.

D-day I did not catch much sleep the previous night, only the presentation going through my mind.Hardly slept for an hour.Got up at 5AM(had to be at the center by 7AM).On reaching the center (about 15 KMs from the hotel we stayed) i felt butterflies in my stomach looking at the people who were too competing for the seat in that institute. The registration was complete by 8 AM.My slot for presentation for at 8 45 AM and my interview was scheduled at 10 45AM.I met my batch mates only at the time of presentation, except me they had gathered together and decided on what questions to be asked when others presented.I was unaware of the questions they might ask me.when my turn came for the presentation i finished it on time. But was pissed off when two girls posed questions.I somehow managed to answer them. After witnessing my batch mates' presentations, I felt that i stood some chance for the MBA seat in that institute. It was time for my interview, I had a bad experience of attending an interview when i sat for my placements .I thought i could pull it off this time around whatever be the situation i was in.I was made to sit between girls on either side, that was like adding salt to the injuries. The girls who sat beside me did not close their bloody mouths even for a minute. And did not bother to close also even after being warned by the staff there.

My Interview panel asked questions from the Indian Football league, they still continued asking questions from it even after telling them that I had no idea in Indian football. After the initial screw ups ,they asked me some questions regarding bluetooth, having studied about it in my engineering curriculum I was able to answer them easily. Then sarcastically asked how the guys from the south were able to score incredible marks in their board exams. And finally asked about the current affairs that were taking place in the country.Due to the initial screw ups i felt i might not stand a chance, but i felt that i had given my best shot. Results were scheduled to be announced at 6PM.Till then time went on at snail's pace.It was just irritating. But i found a companion in two Bangalore based guys.It was fun talking with them. One of them was a die hard Manchester United fan like me and the other guy a die hard Arsenal fan(Worst team on the face of the Earth),we had good time teasing each other. At 6Pm we were made to stand in a queue, adrenalin levels inside me would have been reaching their highest and i could feel that.Whatever be the result it was given in an envelope, the first thing i searched for when i opened was whether i was selected or not.Once having found that started searching for the center i was allotted to, except that everything else were visible at last i sighted the word Hyderabad , thats when i felt the real meaning of"Being on Cloud Nine".Finally I had achieved my Goal. The Ultimate Goal.
Dreams Aplenty !!!

Dreams Aplenty---One might think that through this post I might focus on the ambitions one has in his life.Thats not the case though. What is a dream??On referring to a dictionary one might get the following answers for the apt definiton of a dream:

1. A series of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations occurring involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep.
2. A condition or achievement that is longed for; an aspiration.

Every guy in this world goes to his bed hoping that he gets a dream in such a way that he can cherish each moment of it.A guy would love to have his dreamgirl show up in his dreams every night. Each guy would love to live with his heartthrob atleast in his dreams(I am sure about that). It is an idyllic realm where each one us would be able to talk to our loved ones in the way we want to and take them wherever we wish to take. Each guy would love to have his girl hand in hand in his dream and spend as much time as possible with her.All these are possible only in one's dreams.Other than these there are lots more to be touched upon.

People crazy on sports love to get in person with their favourite sport stars. But most of them do not have the opportunity to get in person with them. The only place they can get in person is that of their idyllic realm--Dreams.I am an Australian Cricket fanatic, like I said I did not have the opportunity to meet any of the team's players.I am great fan of both Mark Waugh and Steve Waugh. If I remember properly I once had a dream like I am practising with those two guys in my terrace(Serious!!!).I still cherish each moment of that dream. It was one my best dreams.

People love to be the most richest in the world(I am one of them :-) ).To be the most richest it can be made possible in two ways either in the dreamland or by making the dream come true. Its of no use to be the richest in the dreamland. It matters only when you are in reality,so we must make our dreams come true.Every guy aspires to be what he wants to be(Pretty Confusing!!!).Aspirations are part of life and has to be,without which one cannot be successful in his life.We can dream but dreaming alone should not be the case, only when we work towards it we can achieve.

Sometimes one might get a dream where certain things are totally irrelevant, but when analysing the dream as such, one might find out that all emotions, events, sensations at the base of their heart has been summed up to form a totally irrelevant dream. It does make sense...And there is no way that one can decide upon as to what dream should come in his sleep because dreams occur involuntarily.

I have tried to justify the two definitons of what a "dream" is all about..I would like to quote a few on dreams:

"A dream becomes a goal when action is taken toward its achievement."-Bo Bennett

"One of the most adventurous things left us is to go to bed. dreams because you might get another chance to relive those moments.

*This post is from a guy's perspective...
What Should I Blog About???

Man,I have been going through an hell of a time pondering about the topic my next blog should be about.I irritated some of my pals to help me out in finding an apt topic for my next blog. This blog says it all..What should I Blog about????

Last weekend I thought that the topic for my next post should be about : as to how a girl and a boy come to know each other in college and how they end up as lovers and finally as life partners.I wanted to keep the title as "Perfect Strangers".Since there was very little information about that topic i left that topic and jumped onto a new one.

The next topic I wanted to post was about the famous rivalries around the world.I thought this one was a good one to talk about, but later changed my mind because of the fact that I had two posts on sports earlier,so scrapped the thought of posting about the "Famous Rivalries".

Then came the not so ultimate one,I prepared my mind to write about what all guys do when they stay in their in friend's place for a night,in my next post "One Night @ The Friend's Place" .I was thinking about the points that were to be discussed in the post.I myself having night-stayed many times in my friend's place had lots to write about : like the experiences we guys used to have, the fun we have, the topics we talked about, about the girls of my class. It was all turning out to be an Dirty Post(it is implicit). So i once again changed my mind not to post that one(I am so damn fickle minded!!!;-)).

Later asked my friend to help me out in finding a topic for the next post,my pal and myself being misogynists he asked me to write about what guys look for in a girl.It was such a crap topic, told him I was not interested to write about that.I do not know why I hate to write about Les Femmes.

Then in college,I had so much time that i could easily write about a topic. The topic I thought about was about the experiences rather trauma, myself and my pals go through one hour before our assessments and before the semester exams. And about what all a normal college guy can do in an hour or so.The title i chose for that post was "The Hour Game".It was a good topic to talk about, but I felt that I should not be so amateurish. That was my last "to be talked about" post.

Later in the evening while returning home from college I had this idea as to share my experiences about what all i wished to talk about in my next post that is this post.So I successfully published my next post "What Should I Blog About???".
De l'école à l'Université !!!!

For those who do not know french, the title goes like this FROM SCHOOL TO COLLEGE.It is the transition ,of which every guy dreams of during his long break after the public exams.Dreams like bunking classes, wearing flashy clothes, sporting a David Beckham hair cut, wearing junk jewels when he is in college. The things i dreamt of before joining college were those of bunking classes, flirting with girls ;-).

That long vacation is the only ray of hope for the exam-stricken guy,who spends time dreaming about the fancy world of entering college, only for his hopes to be dashed when he joins some sick engineering college.Thats the worst part one would ever imagine of.

The first day of college seems to be a promising one because of all the hype given by the senior students of the college asking the new ones to enjoy their four year stay at college, leave alone the guys who might leave the college in the middle of their academic year.Profs and Lecturers start giving their good old lectures as to how a student has to be in the forthcoming years so as to project himself into a great position in the damned society as well as projecting college's name. This is also the day from which all hell might break loose. After all intros and crap, the guy starts searching for the apt benchmate who can be his confidant.

Seniors tired of birdwatching the old ones,go on the hunt for the new ones(ie the freshers). The vice versa is also applicable.Freshers also go on the hunt to catch new friends and also girlfriends(without knowing the consequences one might face).

Later in the academic year due to peer pressure the guy starts pestering his parents for a new mobile phone that has arrived in the market. The time he gets the mobile in his hands the happiness he gets is unexplainable. The next day after showing off enough with his mobile phone he sets off a mobile fad among his peers. The fad among the students goes on till there is a rule banning the usage of mobile phones in campus.RULES ARE MEANT TO BE BROKEN.Still the guy brings his mobile phone and enjoys its company in college.Similarly for all those guys who love their tees,a rule is put that no more t-shirts in campus. Now the guy starts feeling the heat of the college. Then comes into the life of that ill fated guy the introduction of the infamous ID card that has to be worn in campus.Damn it never would have that guy worn an ID card in school. Why push student such limits.Blame the system.

Enough of all the sick part of college which includes the lullabies(lectures ;-)) of the profs .Coming to the fun part of college.Whatever one does in college or whatver happens to a guy in college he has to give a treat to his peers.Be it a whitewash in the assessment tests,be it flirting with a girl whatever it might be a treat is a must. Then comes to flirting with girls, since i do not talk or flirt with girls i do not know much about it.Need info about flirting pls refer to some blog by a flirtatious guy. Then the most exciting part of college life,Bunking classes. It takes courage and guts for one to bunk classes on a full theory day or bunk lab.The thrill one gets out of it is an amazing one.Every guy should have a feel of it.Though bunking classes is possible through ODs(On Duty forms) the thrill lies only in bunking classes without ODs.Then comes the marching orders given by the prof if one does not answer a question .Most of the guys crave for these orders.Though one knows the answer he might not tell for the reason that he wants to get out of the damn class. Then getting caught red handed by the prof for meddling with the mobile while sitting in the last bench.

One more interesting part of college life is that of the exam time.Pre-Exam--study holidays, the time of the year where each guy is glued to his book(s),time where promises like wont watch tv,wont go online are made(though they are not kept),night studies become common, time when guys pretend to be serious. Then exams take place.Post Exam--post mortem on the exams are performed on the first day of the holidays hoping that all good takes place and then the fun begins.Being awake throughout the night, playing cricket, movies, discos, booze etc etc..

There are many more things that might happen in one's life in college. Most feel that college life is cool, but its not case for myself and some of my pals.We still feel that SCHOOL LIFE WAS ROCKING!!!!.
<img width='1' height='1' MADRID----once any sport fan hears this name,he usually starts thinking about the starting line up of the world famous soccer team. Are they still the "los galacticos" or the new "lose galacticos" ??. I follow Spanish Primera Liga.I am a fan of the Los Galacticos.Their performances in the liga is much similar to the waxing and waning of the moon.

Real Madrid boasts of having some of the finest soccer players in the world. Its line up has Ronaldo,Robinho,Beckham,Zidane,Roberto Carlos,Raul and what more can they ask for???.The performances of the team has been pathetic in some matches and have sometimes been very good. The pathetic performances of the team has made the management change its coaches from time to time in regular intervals.First it was Carlos Quiroz, then Camacho,Wanderley Luxemburgo, and currently Juan Ramon Lopez Caro.Recently I read an article saying that Real Madrid are set to change their coach for the forthcoming season after the World Cup.They are targetting Carlo Ancelloti(AC Milan),Arsene Wenger(Arsenal) and not to forget Vicente del Bosque(Former Coach).

Out of the total 29 matches played in the current season they have lost 7 matches.Though this might seem ok.It is not the case.Ihey have lost to some of the teams that are trying to save themselves from relegation. This is not how such team should play.Their performances in the knockout stages of the Champions League was awful. They lost to Arsenal.Starting as favourites to win the game at the Bernabaeu ,they lost the match 0-1 to Arsenal thanks to the lone goal from Thierry Henry. This meant that they were no more in contention to win the champions league.

It does not depend on how much money they spend on buying classy players from around the world. It all depends on how they play ,that too as a team. The team has proved its marketing prowess. But it has to show its prowess on the field. The team of late has been losing to teams that are trying to save its position in the Liga
from being relegated. The team has been trying to draw matches and not to win.Against the big guns they play quite well but not upto their actual quality that they possess in reality. The team always look good on paper but on the field they are not quite upto the mark.I cant figure it out why???.

Some of the few factors i think are making this team to perform badly are:

The defence of Real Madrid has been letting down the team for a considerable amount of time since Hierro left. The presence of Hierro gave a very strong look to the team's defence. But it is not the case now,its defence has been caught open sometimes allowing the opponents to score freely.Madrid bought Jonathan Woodgate thinking that he would strengthen the defence but since his signing he has hardly played, blame it on the series of injuries he has been having.

Then the lack of ability to finish the goals.Players of late have been so ineffecient that they do not finish the goals that are well set up.Robinho,he is one such who can be blamed. He totally lacks the ability to convert the passes from Beckham into goals. If Raul had been in the team surely he would have got the team to scale new heights.Raul known for his finishes was injured for a long time.If he had been playing the earlier stages of the league Real Madrid would have retained their Number One position in the Liga and would still have been the Numero Uno.

Then the resting of key players when it came to big matches in the Liga as well as in the Champions League.I feel these factors are affecting the team's performance.

Bringing in new coaches or buying out new players will not bring cups and glory for the team .Only teamwork, concentration will help the team to relive their Golden Days. Then for sure they can be hailed as the LOS GALACTICOS and not as lose galacticos.

Australian Cricket on the Wane????

<img style="display:block; It all started when Australia lost to then minnows Bangladesh in the Natwest Tri Series just before The Ashes in 2005..When i heard that i was so disheartened that i could not believe that such a mighty team could lose...but it was reality, i had to cope up with it...i thought then that it was the start of the Australian downfall....but they proved it wrong by sharing the Natwest Trophy with England and later winning the bilateral ODI series with England...It was then i had a ray of hope in me that the Australian Team could pull off another great whitewash in that forthcoming Ashes...

It was not the case though....England got The Ashes back after winning it 2-1....it would have been the most amazing test series of the year for a normal cricket fan....but for me it was not an amazing series at all.....what might have gone wrong???? (Cricket Australia would have also thought the same)...might be the thing that complacency crept into Punter's team....the striking fact of the series was that ,the team known for its fielding, was very much sloppy in the field..following the defeat the management dropped some of its famed players such as Michael Clarke,Damien Martyn,Jason Gillespie,Michael Kasprowicz ....the bowling attack looked depleted without two of the famous bowling quartet...

they once again proved the critics wrong by beating the "good on paper" World XI team in the Super Series...thrashing them in the one off test and also in the one dayers....

Factors i think that might cause the Australian downfall:

*Aging Players(the average age of an Australian Cricket Player is 30)
*The most controversial Rotating Policy....
*The concept behind selection of players...

Then later in the year they hosted West Indies for a 3 test match series...which they won convincingly 3-0...it was much of an one sided affair...Later in the VB series against SA and SL after some hiccups in the prelims they won the VB series finals against SL 2-1.....

In the New Year the team's first overseas tour was to that of SA....The tour started off with a 5 match ODI series with the hosts....Australia lost the first two ODIs in an unconvincing manner...But they won the next two ODIs levelling the series 2-2...the last match at Jo'Burg was the talk of the town for a week or so....it was a cracker of a contest....Australia hammered the SA bowlers all round the park....they hit a mammoth 434 for 4...it was a world record....after seeing this score on a local tv news channel i was on cloud nine... i thought the team would pull off a massive victory over SA...but it was not the case once again...Australia lost to SA by one wicket with a ball to spare...what went wrong once again????

How could a team with so much talent could not defend a massive total of 434...i was in shell shocked state for three to four days...still the score 438-9 scored by SA haunts me....what went wrong???....these series of poor performances made me to put the title of the blog as "Australian Cricket On the Wane???"...

Though i cant predict the downfall of australian cricket... i have a strong feeling that its not quite far away...lets hope for the best that there is no such downfall....Geoff Boycott once said "Australia is a Great Team with Good Players"..hope they keep up with that...through this blog one might feel that i sound anti australia, but still i am a die hard fan of the Australian Cricket Team...
